Privacy Policy

Baboon Adventures Ltd (Baboon Adventures) collects data about individuals, usually within a business context. Baboon Adventures treats all data which identifies an individual or when combined with any other information identifies an individual as Personal Data.

Unless otherwise stated, Baboon Adventures will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us, this means we control what happens to the data in our possession.

Baboon Adventures collect various personal data which may include but is not limited to name, address, email, phone number, age, IP address, job title, medical conditions, allergies and vehicle registration numbers.

We need to know your personal data to provide you with our adventure products as well as complying with our legal obligations. We will collect personal data from you that is required for the adventure you will be attending, or if we have a legal obligation to do so. We will also collect personal data about you for marketing purposes.

All the personal data we process is either processed by Baboon Adventures or by companies providing services to us.  Most of our processing will take place in the UK but we do use service providers located in the USA. Data may also be shared with additional suppliers such as travel providers (e.g. Hotels) as well as event service providers (e.g. Caterers and Audio-Visual Providers) along with other providers as required by the adventure or service being provided. 

Data which is directly processed by Baboon Adventures is located on servers within the UK using our relationship management system and this data may be accessible to our service providers. 

Your data will not be used for generic marketing purposes unless explicitly authorised by you. If you do consent, we will send you marketing communications. Our newsletters and other mailing list data is processed via our third party service providers.  For further details on how these parties process you data, please contact us via email at and we will endeavour to get the information you require.

We have a Data Protection compliance programme in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

Your information is processed for the following purposes:

  1. Data collected when booking an adventure in advance – data will be processed by Baboon Adventures and any required additional third-party suppliers.  Data will only be used to facilitate the desired Adventure.  Following the event, this information will also be used to send any relevant follow-up documentation including requests for feedback and information along with communicating any problems with the booking including cancellations and delays.

  2. Data collected for marketing purposes – data may be processed by Baboon Adventures and any required additional third-party suppliers used to send mail outs.  All data will be processed securely in line with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  3. Data collected at adventures – data may be processed by Baboon Adventures and any required additional third-party suppliers as necessary including our on-site photo and video partners (see below).


All details provided will be held in line with legal and contractual requirements as below;

  • Baboon Adventures’s public liability insurance requires that details of all adventures are maintained for a period of 6 years following an event.

  • UK Revenue and Customs require that all payment information be kept for a period of no less than 6 years plus the current financial year following receipt of payment.

As such, all personal details of attendees for adventures will be retained by Baboon Adventures for a period of 6 years following an event unless otherwise indicated during the booking process.  This information may include but is not limited to name, address, email, phone number, age, IP address, job title, medical conditions, allergies and any other information collected during the booking process or whilst onsite at your adventure.

It may also be necessary to collect additional details from you should an accident occur whilst on site.  These details will be retained in line with our obligations under UK law and our insurances.  The required retention periods for this data varies depending on the individual as below;

  • Details of incidents involving minors may need to be retained for up to three years following their 18th birthday.

  • Details of incidents involving adults will be retained for no longer than 5 years following the incident.

Billing information including any personal data contained within invoices and accounting records will be retained for a period of 6 years following the receipt of payment.

Baboon Adventures endeavour to respond to all contact including enquiries in a timely and professional manner.  Any enquiries or other contact which contains personal data will be retained for a period no more than 18 months from the date of our last contact with you.  This data is held under the legal basis of legitimate interest as it may be required to respond to future queries both internally and externally within this period.


Baboon Adventures use third party marketing partners to maintain and communicate with our newsletter subscribers.  Unless you tell us otherwise by exercising your rights to withdraw your consent, you will continue to receive our newsletter for 10 years before we will ask you to give your consent again. Unsubscribe requests will be processed within 48hrs, you may receive e-mails in this period.


We have appointed a service provider, REVL, to provide an automatic photo and video recording service during your adventure. Cameras are located throughout our site and you will be recorded during each adventure. REVL will then use the images to create a personalised video of your experiences for you to purchase. REVL uses automatic recognition software to be able to identify you across our different adventures.

You do not need to make a purchase, but your image will still be recorded.  If you make a purchase, your data will be held for up to 12 months. If you do not make a purchase, your data will be deleted after 30 days.

In addition, Baboon Adventures operates live streaming cameras on some of our adventures to capture your image to display on screens across the site. Images from these cameras are not recorded or broadcast off-site.


If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect or should you wish to withdraw your consent or exercise any of your statutory rights including your right to erasure, right to access, right to rectification and right to be informed, you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer, at who will investigate the matter and take the necessary actions.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).


Baboon Adventures will never request consent from or market to anybody under the age of 16.  Should an adventure require details of any person under the age of 16, these details must be provided by a parent or legal guardian.  Further details of these requirements will be present on any forms related to the event.


We employ cookie technology to help log visitors to our web site as well as to enable certain functions of our web services such as logging in to secure areas and processing registrations.  Cookies are pieces of data that are often created when you visit a website, and which are stored in the cookie directory of your computer.  A number of cookies may be created when you visit Baboon Adventures websites.

When you visit a Baboon Adventures website, we collect web statistics concerning your visit which are stored in a log file. Log files allow us to record visitors’ use of the site as well as monitor site performance and address any errors. The web teams use analytics to record visitors’ use of the site and use this information to make changes to the layout of the website and to the information provided on the website.  Log files do not contain any personal information and they are not used to identify any individual patterns of use of the site.
